Albany Sprint Course & Event Information Package

For all those competing in the upcoming Albany Sprint Triathlon or Duathlon on Sunday 1st March, the competitor information pack is available for download at the link below. The pack includes registration and check in details as well as maps and directions for each leg of the events.

There will also be a post event windup at 6 degrees starting from 3PM on race day where you can come down, enjoy a drink (hopefully shouted for you by a lucky spot prize winner) and give your fellow competitors a bit of stick for all the drafting they did off you.

The Rumor are true…. Whalers Cove Finale

It has been confirmed that the Final Club Tri event of the season held on the 29th of March will be at Whalers cove and not the usual Emu Point course.

For those who want to challenge themselves on offer will be a classic distance triathlon ( 1250m swim, 30km ride, 8km run) as well as the usual Sprint distance.

The Club is trying to get some alternate courses into the mix for a change of scenery (and competitor tactics) so please come down to support this fantastic initiative.

A BBQ will be held after the event so bring the family, enjoy fresh scenery and get some delicious sausage nutrition into our weary competitors.

Windy Wash

Club Tri 4 Saw a range of different race options for our competitors as the choppy windswept conditions made for a challenging swim leg. There was a swathe of new competitors for the short course with 12 on board and 2 teams. Many competitors also tried a mixture of both courses, going for the longer course option in their favoured legs showing great spirit to push themselves that little bit further.

Daniel Fisher was our short course champion with a strong run seeing him home over Michael O Donnell. The season standings have tightened right up with the Greay’s battling it out for short course honor’s.

Josh Marshall was our lone brave Male long course competitor while Dree Campbell and Lucy Anderton were flying the flag for the Females.

A full list of results and the standings table can both be found here

A big thankyou to 6 Degrees for their continued support in providing the spot prize. Zeb Campbell will be dining like a king as he continued his incredible hot streak in the raffle.

Look forward to seeing everyone on March 1st for the Albany Sprint, the marquee event of the calendar. It is an amazing day and definitely worth everyone getting down to.

Will also take this opportunity to update members and followers on the location for our final club tri to be held on 29th March. Unlike the previous Club Tri’s this season finale event is to be held at Whalers Cove, providing a refreshing change of scenery for regular competitors and a fantastic location for the battles for the season championship bragging rights.
